Gym Hygiene Post Lockdown
The lockdown may no longer be in effect, but
the precautions must be taken to prevent yourself from coming in contact with
the virus. Now that the gyms will start operating again, fitness enthusiasts
will start coming out of their homes and step in the gym. Here we will discuss
some good hygiene practices that the gym-goers will need to be mindful about to
prevent themselves from contracting the virus.
A lot of people embraced novel ways of staying
fit during the lockdown periods by trying online fitness classes. People who
have been waiting to go to the gym to workout with equipment based training
will be the most eager to get back to the gym. However, working out in such
places would mean sharing equipment, heavy breathing, and sweating which would
require extra care.
All the gyms should have physical distancing
measures in place by limiting the number of people who attend the sessions.
People should limit the time spent in the gym and also take a shower at home
rather than a communal space where you are at higher risk. It is also suggested
that you always carry 2 towels with you; one for wiping your sweat and the
other for lying on. You should also use disinfectant wipes to clean the
equipment and avoid touching your face. Make it a habit to wash your hands pre
and post-workout.
It is recommended that you limit the number of
things you bring along in the gym bag. Try to carry a couple of towels,
disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, and a pre-filled water bottle to avoid
filling it from the gym itself. To limit the spread of the virus, once you get
back home, leave your shoes outside and put your gym clothes and towels
straight in the washing machine.
