Mental health issues can affect anyone irrespective of their age, gender, or race. There are millions of people that are affected by mental health issues. Studies show that biological factors do play an important part in the mental wellbeing and illness of a person. Women are also subjected to domestic violence. These stresses or traumatic events also cause women to drink. Women who have been physically or sexually abused also tend to abuse alcohol or drugs. Postpartum and late pregnancy periods can witness mental disturbance with post-partum blues being the most common illness which affects 50-80% of the new mothers.
