The valuation of the global fashion industry has been at $3 trillion with luxury clothing industry estimated to be valued at $300 million which is a major chunk of it. This blog is in continuation of the last part called ‘Top 10 Most Expensive Fashion Brands- Part 1’ and here we will talk about the brands that come in the second half of the top 10 most expensive brands in the world.

  1. Dior
    Christian Dior started this brand in 1946 as a premium brand dressing haute-couture for women. The brand later expanded its line of clothing and stated ‘Baby Dior’- a clothing line for children and ‘Dior Homme’- fashion for men. Dior presented its full-fledged collection at their store which was also their residence. This was located at 30 Avenue Montaigne Paris. He named his first collection as ‘Corolle’  and ‘Huit’ that had 90 different looks. In 1947, Dior went into producing perfumes and named the first one as ‘Miss Dior’ after his sister. The brand became famous and soon hit the US market while expanding its line into other segments like accessories, perfumes, and makeup. Its estimated brand value is at $43 billion

  2. Dolce and Gabbana
    This brand is relatively new when compared to the other brands on the list. The brand was established in 1985 by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana and gained popularity quickly. The brand catapulted in the American economy after it established a business tie-up with a Japanese firm who exported their clothes to the US to launch their collection in the country. They started knitwear collection in 1987 along with 2 more lines of lingerie and swimwear.

  3. Ralph Lauren
    Ralph Lauren soon after quitting his job in the army joined the Brooks Brothers which invoked his interest to make ties for men. He convinced the management to let him open a line for exclusive men’s collection. He then launched his corporation in 1971  with a Polo emblem. He then went on to open other labels like Ralph Lauren Black, Ralph Lauren Polo, etc. they ventured into perfumes, men and women luxury and ready to wear segments, and accessories. The brand is valued at $5 billion

  4. Versace
    Gianni Versace had an early introduction to fashion since his mother was into dressmaking business and after his studies, he moved to Milan and started freelancing. In 1978, he started his own label ‘Versace’’ and launched the ready to wear collection and launched his first couture collection in 1989. He subsequently launched 2 more labels called ‘Versus’ and ‘Instante’ and slowly moved into the swimwear, perfumes, accessories business. The brand is valued at $5.8 billion

  5. Giorgio Armani
    The brand was started in 1978 in Milan and is about sheer sophistication. His fashion journey began when he started working in the fashion industry in 1958, working and designing with Italian brands. He then signed a contract with L’Oreal which propelled the brand’s journey into manufacturing perfumes. They also expanded into Armani Kids, Armani Jeans, and Emporio Armani. The brand is valued at $3 billion
