If you are a working girl whose hustle seems to
stretch from day till night, you probably know two things: first, it is very
important to workout to stay healthy. Second, it is equally difficult to find
time for gym. If the time crunch is real, you got to hit the gym before work or
during the lunch break. By now you must be thinking “easier said than done.
What about the sweaty, stinky mess I will look like after a workout?” Worry
not, we got you covered. Here are some easy tips with which you can look fresh
as a daisy right out of gym, even if you cannot manage a shower. All you need
to do is invest a few minutes on the weekend to put together a post-gym kit,
which help you go seamlessly from workouts to meetings. Your post-gym kit
should contain:
Wet
wipes: these are an absolute necessity to
freshen up after the sweat. You could even opt for baby wipes. Pick one with a
fresh scent to energise you instantly and keep enough packs to use liberally.
Dry
shampoo: Spray on for a quick freshening-up
of your hair, and nobody will be able to tell you just had a sweat session. We
recommend Batiste dry shampoos for their amazing quality. You could also use a
light leave-in spray conditioner to tame down the frizz. After the workout is
done, use the cold setting on the blow dryer in the gym to dry off the sweat
and spray a layer of the dry shampoo. In case there is not blow dryer, you can
just stand under the fan and dry up the sweat before using a dry shampoo and
restyling your hair.
Deodorant: Smelling good after a workout is an absolute
must. Body odour creates a really bad impression specially in the workplace. We
recommend going for deodorants with a mild smell, or unperfumed ones as they
control your body odour more effectively than the perfumed ones which just try
to mask the smell but might end up smelling weird when mixed with your sweat.
Headband: You can keep it in your gym kit to quickly put your
hair up during the workout. The more your hair length stays exposed, greater
chances there are of getting damaged and spit ends. The headband will also
absorb some sweat which will reduce the sweat accumulated in your scalp.
Change of undergarments: Internal hygiene is very important after intensive
workouts. Your undergarments will be the first to get sweaty and it is
important that you change out into a fresh pair so that the bacteria in the
seat do not keep sitting on your skin.
These are the absolute essentials you need in your gym
bag so that you can squeeze in a workout before heading to the office or during
the lunch break. Follow these tips thoroughly, and our guess is you can step
out looking fabulous enough even for a date!
