We take pride in being like our mothers, but some legacies need letting go

For most of us, the bond we share with our mothers is one of the most cherished. Perhaps that's why we tend to follow them so instinctively, their rules, their ways, the lessons they pass down. But while their intentions are rarely harmful, many of the legacies they leave behind are unconsciously ingrained, and some of them, though well-meaning, need to be questioned, challenged, and gently let go.
