Oily Skin Beauty Tips
The unforgiving can take a toll on anyone and
can cause a nightmare of dermatological issues with the most common amongst
them being oily hair and skin problems. The sebaceous glands are overactive
which produces excessive sebum making your face look greasy and giving rise to
skin concerns like blackheads, acne, clogged pores, etc.
- Cleansing
It is important to cleanse your face and it should be done 2-3 times a day which helps get rid of all the excessive oil and dirt that gets accumulated leading to acne and clogged pores. Use gel-based or foam cleansers or products that contain Honey, Tee tree oil, Neem, Turmeric, Salicylic Acid
- Scrubbing
It is important for you to exfoliate your skin once or twice a week. Excessive sebum leads to dead skin cells on the surface which then result in acne, blackheads, pimples, etc. it is imperative that you exfoliate your skin but not rub it too hard in a rough manner
- Face Masks
Exfoliation should be followed up with a face mask. Masks that contain Sandalwood and Multani Mitti (Fuller’s Earth) absorb the excess oil and are great for people with oily skin
- Moisturise
If you don’t moisturise, the sebaceous glands will produce more oil to compensate. Contrary to what people might believe, oily skin also needs moisturisation and hydration. It is best to opt for a water-based moisturiser that is oil-free and non-comedogenic
- Apply
sunscreen
Do not skip this step because not using the sunscreen can give your skin brown spots, freckles, and pigmentation. It is best for a person with oily skin to apply a sunscreen that is gel-based.
