You can have fun in your own company just fine. There are many places in the world where you can feel safe and explore away. We have prepared a list of our top 5 places where you can have the time of your life, go fly!

1.  Amsterdam, Netherlands

For a lot of women, solo travelling is synonymous with Amsterdam, and with good reason. It is a vibrant city teeming with joy and culture. The locals here are decent and friendly, so you will instantly feel at home. Also called the “Venice of the North”, Amsterdam has something in store for every traveler. Rent a bike and just cycle around the city, experiencing all its buzzing life. There are gorgeous canals, globally renowned museums, lovely bridges and stunning architecture, not to forget a large number of eateries serving delicious local and international cuisines. If you are into partying, the crazy nightlife of Amsterdam will not disappoint you.

2.  Chiang Mai, Thailand

Thailand is the paradise for the shopaholic in us. Bangkok is easily the most famous destination, but this city ranks ahead in terms of being safe for female travelers. It is much smaller than Bangkok, and free of the tourist scams that generally plague Bangkok. Many of the locals are fluent in English, so you can easily get around the city. While you are here, feel free to explore ancient ruins, visit breathtaking temples, cliff jump at the ‘Grand Canyon,’ eat every type of food imaginable, dance the night away, or even take a long walk down the street.

3.  Helsinki, Finland

Sitting adjacent to the Gulf of Finland, this picturesque city is the largest in Finland. Helsinki boasts of a low crime rate. According to The Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report of 2017, Finland is the safest country in the world, making it one of the best places for a solo female traveler. Additionally, the locals speak fluent English, which makes it easy for foreigners to find their way around the city. Also don’t forget to check out a traditional Finnish sauna, a national pass time that is enjoyed by Finns all over the country.

4.  Berlin, Germany

This is probably the first famous city to make it to this list. Well, Berlin is not just any other urban jungle laden with concrete. It has been home to artists from all over the world for more than 30 years now, and naturally has a funky spirit about it. Even though it is the capital, it is not crowded because it is spread over a large area, and there are big parks in every neighborhood, so you can enjoy the fresh air in the middle of the city. Berlin attracts solo female travelers because it is a socially progressive city with a low crime rate.

 5. Reykjavik, Iceland

We saved the best for the last. Taking the top spot in the Global Peace Index, (a report released by the Institute for Economics and Peace regarding the peacefulness of regions and countries around the world), Reykjavik is truly a beauty to be explored by solo female travelers. Finland already takes the cake as the safest country in the world. Reykjavik is the cherry on top, being the epicenter of life and culture of Icelandic people as well as one of the country’s focal points of tourism. Eclectic, laid-back and downright beautiful, Reykjavik is a great base for day trips that display Iceland’s postcard-perfect attractions, such as the Blue Lagoon and Northern Lights.
