We have put together some money saving tips and hints that can save you literally thousands of dollars.

The first thing you should do is plan a ‘Baby Budget’. Putting together a simple budget before your baby is born will really give you a good sense of what you need to spend your money on, what's important and what can be placed under the ‘wish-list’ column. In other words, what's a necessity versus a nice-to-have. The idea here is to get your financial bearings so you can raise your little one while keeping your purse intact.

So with this in mind, your ‘needs versus wants’ list can be prioritized with the goal of trimming the fat from your spending. With a little one on the way, the nice-to-haves need to be prioritized. The goal is to cut a good number of the frivolities off the list.

Many parents feel they have to buy everything for their baby and end up with a home filled with unnecessary impractical baby accessories. Some overzealous new parents equate love for their new child with "stuff."

The problem is that the unnecessary starts to add up and the nice-to-haves get in the way of what baby really requires - day-care, food health care diapers, and safety essentials.

If you do the Math, the numbers can be frightening. The cost of raising a child can run into the $100,000’s.  Why does it cost so much to bring up a little person? Lets take a closer look at the figures...
In most western countries, day-care costs about $1,200 a month. Some parents opt to leave the work force because if you have two children in day-care, it will cost you the equivalent of about $30,000 in annual salary.

The annual cost of visits to the Pediatricians office is about $250.
Not only is parenting an expensive endeavor, it can be a dirty job, too. By the time a child is potty-trained, he or she can go through thousands of diapers. The cost of diapers amounts to $1,500 to $2,000 in total by the time your baby is out of them.

Food costs are also expensive, topping out at more than $100/week
All told, baby expenses can run a family around $2,000 month, and that's for just the bare minimum. So spending wisely is the key to raising a baby on a budget.

Simple tips to remember:

·Prioritize the necessities, what does your baby really need?

·Your baby will grow out of items quickly so be conservative when making purchases.

·Always take advantage of hand-me-downs.

·Buy in bulk. You will go through diapers very quickly particularly in the first year. Buying in bulk not only saves you money at the checkout but it also means fewer trips to the store saving you money on gas.

·Make your own baby food. Making your own baby food is easy, healthier and cheaper than pre-packaged food. All you need is a small food processor so you can process fruits like apples and bananas and veggies like carrots and sweet potatoes.

·Buy larger size clothes when you find the on sale (like end of season sales) so that you'll have available when your child will fit into that size.

·Spend your money where it matters most like safety car seats and cribs.

·Purchase with cash. If you have cash, you know you can afford it.
